JuJooGuppy
Hello,I am not sure if I changed something wrong on the exporter, or what. But today, when I export models back into .nif from 3ds max, I have been getting random entries into some of the nif fields, as an example under the main objects BSLightingShaderProperty, I have had it export out with a musical note sign, or some random letters infront of a directory (To the wrong material, too, not the one originally assigned.) A lot of the time when I try to open it with Nifskope after, it will also state "An MD5 hash comparison indicates this file will not be 100% identical upon saving. This could indicate underlying issues with the data in this file."I have also had some of my objects changing shape. I literally just used this yesterday without problem, so I am really lost here. What the hell is going on here? What did I break between today and yesterday...?
JuJooGuppy
I can literally import an object, export it back out and it will bug out like this. I have tried different settings with no luck. Seems like something is broken..I suppose the other possibility is that this actually is a common issue currently, and I just need to re-enter the info. I was more concerned that something isnt working right and thus messing up my meshes.I am pretty sure I sorted the MD5 hash related issue, I think that was from a left over object.. but I have ran out of time to mess with it further. I apologize, I know I have a couple of question threads up... nif's / nifskope are not the easiest to dive into w/o some experience I guess, but I am slowly making sense of it. I know how to correct the material path errors being generated, but my concern is with whats causing it, as I can find no reason. JuJooGuppy
Update: I am not sure what got changed, bugged or otherwise... because this is still going on, and wasn't an issue just the other day. Out of frustration, I installed a copy of 3ds Max Design 2013, which isnt even explicitly supported by the nif tools.. after a little tweaking to get the plugin to load, I tried exporting with that, a program NOT listed as supported (Design is verys imiliar to max but there are differences..).. and it exported properly. No odd messed up text fields, they had the proper addresses.I do use an older 3ds Max currently, 2009, but its listed as being supported by the nifplugin. When I import the model, the textures all load properly, I can see them in max 2009 (Funny enough, they dont display properly in Max Design 2013, despite exporting properly.. sigh.)I got a screenshot of what is happening to the nif's when I export from 2009 NOTE: This was a straight import, export. Didnt edit or change anything. This happens on ANY model now. Note at the start of the directory, the corruption of the text. This is random gibberish every time. I am experiencing issues with other aspects not exporting properly, as well. After making some edits to a mesh, I exported it, only for the changes to get resized, moved, or vanish / bug out, in addition tot he materials issue. I just opened the 3ds backup save I made of my changes in 3ds Max Design, and exported using it, exactly same file / method, and it came out just fine.I am trying very hard to find whatever is suddenly causing this issue, and whether its a big problem or not. Please, any help here would be appreciated. I suppose as a work around, I can do the modeling in 2009 that I am more comfortable with, then load it in Max Design for export.A big concern is also having 3ds Max Design get bugged out too, and screw me even more. ANY ideas? is it possible its as extreme as a harddrive problem (max 2009 is on one of my older HD's, though not that old. Design is on a different HD though equally as old.)In the mean time, definitely using Max Design to export, even though its not supported.. heh..Sorry for the long post and many questions. Just at a loss here! Edited February 1, 2016 by JuJooGuppy
JuJooGuppy
Its also worth noting, that the files I was exporting w/ 2009 and then getting the MD5 hash error in nifskope, I can export w/ max design and they do not prompt the same error. So something is definitely really messed up. Should I perhaps completely reinstall max 2009 and the nifskope plugin for it? I think I will try that.
