TheLastIstari
HEROES OF TAMRIELBecause I don't have a fancy pic banner! So I'm making a mod, what is it? Well truth be told, it's a mod I'm surprised no one's done. It's, to put it bluntly, and simply, a mod that adds the other PCs to the game. By PCs, I mean the Eternal Champion (Arena), Uriel's Agent (Daggerfall), the Nerevarine (Morrowind), and possibly the Dovahkiin (Skyrim) as companions for you in your travels. I know nothing about Battlespire, Dawnstar, Shadowkey, or Stormhold, so unless someone who has played those is willing to fill me on information herowise so I can make a base, there's nothing I can do basewise. Yeah, I'm not going for lore friendliness, D: If I did, then only the Eternal Champion and the Nerevarine would be possible. Anyway! The mod is being made to adapt to the CM Partners mod. The main goal of this mod is customization. WIth a brief, yet informative tutorial on the Construction Set with NPCs, you, the downloader are to edit the NPCs to fit your needs, make them your character. However, you don't have to, as the bases also double as "defaults". Most of the defaults are nameless though, with the exception of the Eternal Champion, who has a stated name of "Talin" in canon. Normally, I could get this done in a day as the only difficult part would be balancing some stuff and making them convincing powerwise as another PC. However, this is why I come to you, with a catch 22. Should I make dialogue? The idea is to have them comment and offer their own opinions and advice on certain events (planning on just the MQ now, may move on to other quest chains.) For example, come the big battle of Bruma, while Martin's giving his speech, they might advise you to leave them outside while you go inside the great gate. A small thing, but in a way, it helps justify how a small band of guards can last that long without you. The problem with this is I don't want to set anything in stone, as this is meant for the player to modify and enjoy as their own characters all working together. To me, I'm afraid that including dialogue would set their personality in stone, and I definitely don't want to do that. If I DID give them dialogue, I'd be relying on Elys's Universal Silent Voice. I highly recommend you get this anyway, as it works on all missing voice files, fixing the "2 second read" problem. So I'm asking you, the possible downloaders. Should I just leave the dialogue be? Include some at the expense of possibly giving them a personality? Or include dialogue, but include a tutorial on how to edit the stuff? Please make sure to vote. While you do vote, I will continue to work on the mod. Edited April 29, 2011 by The Last Istari
