I seem to have merged FO3 (and FO1 & 2?) with FONV

Okay, first off, I've been going all over the mojave since this happened and (surprisingly?) it doesn't seem to have caused any problems, but I'm worried that it's only a matter of time.

Anyways, I went to install a housing mod that I love (Frys Freehold) and it contains a lot of files. Unfortunately, I accidentally installed it into my FO3 folder. :wallbash: The only reason I have FO3 right now was to support the FONV NMC texture pack mod, which extracts the NMC textures from FO3 (awesome stuff, btw). So I figured what the hey, since I'm not playing it and rather than pick through the files, I'd just uninstall FO3. (Through windows uninstall.) Not sure what happened but I clicked on one of the ensuing buttons really fast (ie without really looking) and got a weird error-type sound. "Bah" I thought, no big deal.

But when I checked out my Steam Apps/ Common/ FONV folder, it seemed to have a bunch more stuff than I recalled. The more I poked around, the more it seemed I'd somehow imported a bunch of FO3, and even FO1 and 2 stuff into FONV, though I'm at a total loss how that could have happened (I bought FO1 and 2 from "GoodOldGames.com" not Steam, and have them installed but have never played them)

What really stuck out to me was the contents of data/textures. There are some texture folders that were added through my active FONV mods: "00extapt" (Bonds Primm house mod), "Weapons" (the Scarab laser rifle mod), "sunglasses collection" (for a cool shades mod) and "darn" and "fonts" (Darnified UI mod). But, I didn't recall the"architecture", "clutter", "dungeons", "furniture", "landscape", "terminals" or "vehicles" folders. I double-checked and I don't have any mods that would create them. When I looked closer at the "architecture" folder, for example, it contains a bunch of folders that look like they came from FO3 (see image). The "clutter" folder (which I also don't recall) has an absolute TON of stuff in it. I can't recall if the vanilla FONV had these things - I don't think so?

I poked around some more and noticed some references to FO1 and 2 in the data/music folder. (WTF?). None of my mods created any music folder, and I have no idea what parts of the "music" folder are from the vanilla FONV.

I hit "undo" in windows explorer, but nothing seemed to change.

Here's some images:

contents of my FONV/data folder, I really can't recall whether this changed from this apparent merge or not.

my mods, and images of data/textures, data/textures/architecture and data/music:

Can anyone spot anything in the data folder that shouldn't be there? Can I safely delete the architecture, dungeons, furniture, landscape, terminals and vehicle folders from textures? Anything in "Music" I can/should delete? Actually, though, that last question raises another - it seems like it'll take ages to determine if any other stray files got snagged by this apparent merge (even aside from the ones I've mentioned) - should I maybe forget about the whole thing, given that no problems have arisen?

edit: dunno if this has anything to do with all that, but the weirdest thing just happened: I reached level 35 yesterday awhile after completing Dead Money, but in my latest NV session today I started getting XPs again (once for completing the Boomer quest for Crocker, and again killing some Freeside thugs). The little "level up" bar showed a span of 35 to 36. I quit the game and restarted, and my XPs are again at "Max". *shakes head*

Don't delete anything, Play with this phenomena for a while and see what happens. Sometimes in our life times, Karma plays neat tricks on ones sole, and imagination. Take advantage of it while it lasts. Don't try to fix any thing. If something goes south, go the other way. But most of , Enjoy this blessing of fate. You will never get a chance at it again.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif
