Kinos141
I'm new to New Vegas modding, and I wanted to know how do I change a body part into a collectable item. I want to sever a head, and add it to my inventory; Predator-style. Any ideas?
davidlallen
There is a quest in FO3 related to collecting fingers or ears from evil or good NPCs killed. This is similar to what you want. In this case, there is a perk which adds the item to the NPC's inventory when you kill them. You can trace out "finger" in the FO3 files to find it. I have used a similar technique in my FNV mod Decisions With Regrets to give a tissue sample when a certain type of creature is killed. If you want to change the graphics of the dead NPC after the head is removed, that is harder, and I don't have any experience with that.
carlosjuero
There is actually a quest in New Vegas that deals with collecting heads - you may want to look into how that is set up in GECK [hint: in the Freeside area]
Kinos141
I meant something like how you can pikcup the head by pressing z, but instead you can put it inventory, carry it to your hideout, and whip it out like how it was on the ground. I also want to hang them on a wall or something(trophies.)
davidlallen
Creating a generic item and placing it in their inventory is easy. But I do not think there is a way to create a new item, which is a head, which looks exactly like an existing NPC head. For example, if you were to kill Old Lady Gibson, you would want an item which looks just like her face, same hairstyle, same eye color, etc.
Kinos141
Maybe, I can create an inventory item, which saves all the data of the head, then, when you pull it back out, it justs updates a blank head which the features. I think that will work.
