Keikogi
First off im sorry because this is an issue with the PS3 version of the game, but I have exhausted all resources and the only thing I can find about this are from closed topics from 8 years ago...so here it goes... I am having an issue with the display of the in-game picture from Oblivion GOTY edition. The problem is something that is quite hard to explain, but it is something I have experienced before but cant quite remember the reason it was being produced, and I also believe the issue was on PC so a simple ALT+ENTER could have fixed the issue. When I load into the game, there are clear, glass like horizontal cuts across the screen, 1 inch apart, covering the entire screen. This is not screen tearing due to lack of vsync, which I believe the game uses because the picture never tears. It is almost like the game is somehow internally cropping the game image, or the screen could be not configuring correctly with the game somehow. I have tried switching my display settings in the XMB, the lines appear on 720p or 480p. The best way to describe the problem would be, its almost as if the image is being sliced and distorted, they display on NPC's and the texture is spread apart and "cut through" Here is a video I recorded on my Galaxy S5 in HD to try and help show the problem....thank you for any help with this and im sorry if I posted in the wrong section of the forums! :ermm:   :pirate:   I'm connected using HDMI, My monitor is a 24" ViewSonic V3D245. I only have one display to test with.
SeekerIX
So, I know this is a few years old and probably not relevant anymore but I took the liberty of testing the game out on my original CECH-A01 PS3 with a variety of cables and screens and have come to this conclusion: The lines will only go away if you set your consoles aspect ratio to 4:3, which is only available on the lowest resolution available. In my case: 480p (using a tv setting to stretch to fit will still work). So if youâre willing to deal with the narrower field of view or black bars and the low resolution, this will Eliminate the lines completely. But an old 4:3 CRT or âboxâ tv will yield pretty good results. If you can find one of these tvs or monitors for cheap, it was a pretty nice experience. Other notes: a Widescreen/HD CRT still has lines but resolves them very fast making them a lot less annoying, allowing for 720p or 1080i higher resolution playback. Best picture quality with the 4:3 image can be achieved using an M-Classic or similar upscaler. For some reason this problem doesnât exist on PS Now version of the game.
