Malchik
AFAIK it is currently not possible to transfer characters (or horses) bewteen Ob and SI. To be in SI legitimately they must have passed through the gate and they cannot. I presume you ported them in with a command. As such they are not recognised as being there. The same happens if you coc out of SI and into Ob, the Ob characters won't talk to you as the game does not recognise you as being in Ob. I'm sure someone will be modding this in due course if they haven't already but for the present you'll need to create new companions in SI and leave them there when you leave. A point which I mentioned elsewhere - if any SI character leaves SI owing to a glitch they will forever be outside SI. (And it has happened in my game so I know it can.) I expect I can use the console to get them back. Don't know what non-console users do.
Vagrant0
Malchik said: Pretty much what he said. The portals into SI, and between several areas of SI don't work for companions since the areas connected change throughout the main quest. This makes running around SI with a companion a pain in the ass since you're constantly having to move the companion to your location. As far as I have been able to play with things, there is no good way to script a companion around these points, and trying to do so would require you editing the companion mod you have active. The main portal into SI also flips a switch which changes dialogues between things for the rest of the world, and SI. This was done to prevent the mudcrab type conversations between SI NPCs, or the SI conversations outside the Islands. It does however have the side effect of breaking any custom conversations since most mods like that don't have custom greetings. I believe this can be fixed by adding the NPC to one of the SI town factions through console, just be sure that it is the faction currently in favor or you may have problems. DeusXMachina
I think there are some companion mods which can be used with SI, such where the comp. can be summoned and unsummoned like Dremora Companion and Neeshka (for those two I'm sure as they work flawlessly in my game). They have to be unsummoned in Cyrodiil and can then resummoned in SI.
