FerventDirections Posted February 9, 2016 Share Posted February 9, 2016 Some things I'd like to see are: Being able to give orders to resistance groups you are in contact with. Even if it's for a whole continent after you control it. This can range from spreading propaganda (reducing cost for recruits for a month), to researching where a particular resource is kept so you can plan a mission (allowing you some control over getting resources), to launching a diversion attack which reduces the number of aliens in the next mission in that area (making it easier to blow up advent facilities). Each order takes differing amounts of time, and each makes retaliation missions more likely by a certain amount. You could possibly rebalance it by making retaliation missions incredibly difficult but the only thing causing them is the missions the resistance groups do. Like XCOM EW, if in some missions you could have some soldiers not wearing armour and wearing civilian outfits. They are limited to either a pistol or a psi amp, but another soldier has a spare gun they can collect. They then don't break concealment unless they equip weapons, go too close to an alien, or go into a restricted area, but they can leave proximity mines and scout out enemy locations etc. Changing the globe so there are more and smaller regions for the resistance groups. Oh, and add unique resistance locations so that the cutscene for meeting a resistance group isn't basically the same animation in similar locations with the same demographic. You could have resistance groups hidden away in rainforests, or in a cave in the himalayas, or in an old fort off the coast. Killing enemies with the sword doesn't break concealment. You'd have to have some way to split up pods which I'm not sure of, but it means you could have a team of rangers splitting up enemies and slowly taking down all the basic troopers. If you could recruit soldiers directly from resistance groups rather than a general pool, so that the nationalities you recruit are based on the territories you have contacted. The stun lancer automatically leaving soldiers stable and unconscious at 1hp rather than killing. It's in the name of the class- it's meant to stun not kill. Adding sectoid commanders back in and replacing sectoid's current psi attack with a weaker psi attack which doesn't have a chance of mind control. -------------- And then theres the really crazy idea I'd love to see- a complete reskin of the game where instead of the commander you play as Nick Fury on the helicarrier. You control SHIELD just after Hydra somehow destroyed SHIELD's reputation and networks, and you are trying to keep the resurrection of SHIELD a secret from the general governments and public. You are gradually convincing leaders and intelligence organisations of different countries to let you back in and run missions where you hunt down and destroy Hydra, but even so on missions you have timers running down until police arrive and arrest your SHIELD agents or until superheroes or villains are likely to appear. Arrested agents are then released after a couple of days (depending on the mission and your relationship with the government- missions in Latveria could take weeks and resources to get your agents back. Meanwhile, there are occasional disasters such as Mole Men or Morlocks attacking, and you also get one off classes with unique armour that you can't recruit more of such as Captain America, Hawkeye or Black Widow, each with unique abilities. dasbreen Posted February 9, 2016 Share Posted February 9, 2016 I'm not sure how easy it would be, but I'd like the armor to actually be useful for protection other than just adding more hp. Soldiers can be wearing very good armor, take 4-6 damage and come back wounded/gravely wounded. If the damage is less than the added HP from armor/nanoscale vests, they shouldn't be injured at all upon return. As in the armor has done its job; it withstood damage and didn't let the wearer get injured. Yea the armor may need repairs, but not the soldier. A total art conversion into the anime would be really awesome (making it quite possible the best JRPG-SRPG ever) but remaking all the assets to suit the style would be tons of work.... still I'd really like play that, very much so. Aka temporary hit points.A veteran soldier that has 8 hit points doesn't need more hit points which the Predator armor would provide with 4, he needs ARMOR, be that +2, so he can take a few shots, if it's 3 damage point, then take 7 of those... or die in a huge blast of plasma, if it's 11 point of damage, as he is dead. AKA the point is the damage reduction that the armor provides, not added hit points that make him stay longer at the hospital. This can't be done easily as you need to edit the armor system, but that's why it's a mod request, that I wish... Another thing is, make the Dark ops missions should each be optional, into which one to goes, just like in Long War, and not "ouh there's 3 of them, CHOOSE 1, which one is not going to kill you instantly"... EDIT:Erhm ok, it's partially there actually, in the DGC.ini file under the [XComGame.X2Ability_ItemGrantedAbilitySet] ...But it lacks the full control, it allows me to set the mitigation to the items that the game already has them in, but of course that's not most of the items, so only one medium and heavy kinds can be altered.
