Make a little town around it with shops and houses and all that. I think it would be cool if you could actually become mayor/leader of the town.Make some empty docks so that it is compatible with Side's Sailing Ships.Have it's own guards with possibly some slightly unique armor?If you are the mayor you have the ability to command the guards and arrest any npc that is in the town. Most importantly, I think it would be cool to have like a bridge/ boardwalk that goes over and around the harbor. This would have all the shops and houses on it.
