NekoKurai
Hey everybody! As you can read in the title, I'm looking for a tutorial on using the Toolset for changing the appearance of NPCs. I already downloaded mods like DA Redesigned, but there are still some additional minor changes I'd like to do, for example changing hairstyles. To be honest, I have absolutely no experience with the Toolset, thus I'm quite afraid to crash my game. The tutorials on Youtube didn't really help, neither did the ones I found on other sites. Can anybody help me? Thank you a lot!
theskymoves
I used the tutorials (basic and 'intense') linked from this page as my intro to making morphs in the toolset. If you have a morph you like otherwise, and just want to change the hairstyle, you really don't need the toolset; it's much simpler to use a GFF editor to edit the applicable info in the MOR. rosvitacousland
Maybe my step-by-step instruction concerning the crown for Alistair could be useful for you, because the crown is made as a special hairstyle. It's made by Risibisi. s. http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4311/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fdragonage%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D4311%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D2636424&pUp=1 There is even a photo made by Yuanmonos of the gff editor. NekoKurai
Well, I just found out that I cannot even run Toolset with Windows 10, so I think I'll try the GFF Editor. Thank you very much! (@rosvitacousland: Wenn ich weitere Fragen habe, kann ich mich da auch per PN an dich wenden?) Why do you say this? :huh:I'm running the Toolset just fine with Windows 10. I get this whenever I start the Toolset: "Unable to connect to the database. Run the toolset configuration program and verify your settings or search the toolset wiki (...) . This toolset must now exit." I re-installed toolset manually as recommended here: https://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Unable_to_connect_to_the_database . It's still not running. I'm about to bang my head against my desk... T.T
Thandal
(Wait... Haven't we just had this discussion somewhere?) Problems installing/configuring MS SQL Server are common, but that has nothing to do with Win10. Have you followed these instructions for configuring things? NekoKurai
Yes, I tried that too. When I press the "Test Connection" button, I get "Fehler beim Testen der Verbindung durch einen Fehler beim Initialisieren des Providers. Cannot open database "bw_dragonage_content" requested by the login. The login failed." (Yeah, German and English are mixed up) .
Thandal
Not the easiest read, (even for a native English speaker) but take a look at this:Get Dragon Age Origins Toolset on 64-bit Windows 7, Steam, and SQL Express 2008 Good Luck!
