Proper Epilogue save/item management *spoilers*

Right so the game made an epilogue save, automatic, but this post-game save happened right after the archdemon's defeat. It is kind of stupid because during the coronation you get to make some choices that I believe will be carried over. The probelm is that after the coronation the game doesn't make any save.

I wouldn't have an issue with that if:

1- I knew for sure that the game was using my post-coronation choices

2-I could go back to party camp and remove some items from some characters

Some of my guys have some really good items and I want to use them on Awakening. Sten is walking around with a full set of superior heavy drakeskin armor, Alistair has the lifegiver ring. I don't know if these guys will come back to my party in Awakening (AND PLEASE DON'T TELL ME IF THEY RETURN OR NOT), so I just want to get these items back before going to Awakening. But the way things are, I either have to choose to go conserve post-coronation choices and lose all the items on other characters or take the items but lose post-coronation choices.

I even tried the summoning portal mod to bring my characters to my party during the post-coronation but it doesn't work, they can't be selected. Is there any way to get both things? Is there a mod to help me out with this?

Welcome, AdultFilter!

Glad you're having fun with Dragon Age.

As far as your question go:,

a) There are no "choices" remaining that you make after defeating the AD. By that point you have already established if Shale would be recruited, whether or not your Warden would have any romantic Relationship(s), (and if so, with whom) whether or not to allow Morrigan to perform the DR (and if so, with whom), by whom the AD was slain, and who would be ruling Fereldan afterwards (whether singly or jointly.) Those are the "World-State" elements that carry forward, and that's what's contained in the auto-save named "Post-Coronation".

b) Without providing any spoilers, you can still make a Named Save after the coronation. And if you have yet to complete any of the in-game DLC (TSP, RtO, WK) then you can still begin/finish those adventures. And even if you've completed all the quests, if you have WK you can return there to visit Levi Dryden, (Merchant) retrieve items from the Party Storage Chest, and exchange the gear of anyone who is still a Companion that you take with you. (You can also go to Camp, but I can't recall atm if that would allow you to swap your Companions's equipment. Been almost two months since I played DA:O, focused on DA2 now... )

So... no worries about plot-flags. (Well, none beyond the known bug of some relationship settings not transferring to DA:A-and-beyond) And a way to get the valuable gear into your inventory before heading to the Vigil!

NOTE: Certain "official" items, (and most mod ones) won't appear in DA:A. There are some mods hta provide a fix for this. Plus, if your Warden is wearing particular armour/robes, (usually the bonus/DLC ones) even if that item is valid in DA:A, at the very start of the game your Warden might be inserted into the opening sequence unclothed. If so, immediately check your inventory for the "missing" pieces.

Happy Continued Gaming!

Thanks for the reply.

But won't any of my choices during the coronation carry on? For an instance, I am given a boon by Alistair. As a city elf I chose to give more rights to the alienage and let him choose the arl for it. I told Alistair I wouldn't chase Morrigan, I told Zevram he better never return to Denerin, I told Sten he owed me a favor.

I could have chosen a different boon, or I could have put Shianni as the arl (and she would die because of that), I could have told Zevram to stay or told Alistair I would seek Morrigan, I could have told Sten I would go travel with him.

None of these things matter in Awakening?

Without going into too much detail, and not wanting to give anything away...

No. Not really.

Don't forget you can play Awakenings as a stand-alone module (almost) by choosing to be a Warden from Orlais, such that nothing you do in Origins is carried over (apart from who killed the AD and who rules Ferelden - and these things you choose on character creation in Awakenings if you go along the Warden from Orlais path).
