I looked at the help and it said mine was 1.3.0.452 not sure at all anymore if that is important.I will provide you with a link to obtain the correct version. You have now identified the real problem here. Delete or uninstall that geck version. Do what you said and download what I give you. Do as I directed in the earlier post. Now you will have what you wanted. ccmechanic2
Oh yes, Before I forget, I would highly advise you copy the Eula agreement there to a note pad. It is always a good practice to stay up on things in the software world.
HumanReaper
Well, I just downloaded restarted, put it in. Well it still says its 1.3.0.452 when I look into help. I really am at a loss here. Did you check your help then you go to about right? Since contents will not even open up for me. So yours says 1.3.3?

I also verified the link as to be the same. This as you say means The OS is interfering with your update. You are in need of a registry cleaner. I can suggest uniblue. it will remove those references. Here is the link for the screen shot. (Version Needed
ccmechanic2
Some how, your geck is still loading. The old version is not compatible with todays updated game. 1.3.0.452 is way old. So even when you delete it from the game directory, and you place the new one in there, your getting the old one STILL ? That's an OS problem. Or your using an installer? Check you user\app\temp folder and make sure it's empty of all the installer crap. this may be why.
HumanReaper
2 things one is an idea one is a thing 1. Idea :: You could zip your GECK files and post it at like media fire really quick 2. ccmechanic2
2 things one is an idea one is a thing 1. Idea :: You could zip your GECK files and post it at like media fire really quick 2. I can not for the life of me find the temp folder. It got up and hid on me. ---- found itNo, I can't do that It's not necessary any way. One other tidbit of information that may be causing the issue. It's quite possible that permissions on the extracted data are locked by the system So even if you place them on the correct spot on the drive. The os will launch it's reg ed backup which is what's happening here.. You need to see hidden files and folders on your OS, My computer, tools,Folder options,View, show hidden files and folders on all drives, and uncheck the first 3 below that. Set your system so you have more control over whats going on. I can now see why your pulling your hair out. Lol
HumanReaper
Well the hidden files, was a great idea. However unfortently there are no hidden files in that folder. I still could find the hidden files on the desktop, so I know I did it right. Just there would appear not to be any in this folder. I am pulling my teeth now, ran out of hair. Also I uploaded a post of the version so you know I am telling the truth, lastly thanks for all the help. ccmechanic2
well Don't feel alone. Since using NVedit, I can no longer under any chances get fo3 version to edit. It works Great to look at eventing but it won't compile, and it won't even open the edit box at all. Un installed it, deleted every thing. Used and old backup downloaded a year ago and still no dice. I have a sneaky feeling it's steam network driver causing it. I played around with xlive and all it's constants to no avail. FoNV works just fine. Fallout 3's version is not going to work on this system with NV being present. Visual basic's versions? I tried them all. Bethesda was no help either. No clue as to why. I had to stop all my research due to this weird bug. So, we have diametric opposed programs that refuse to edit. What's in common between our two systems that would prevent editing? I am on win7 32bit ultimate, your on vista 64bit. It has to be steam.........Or maybe secure rom? If and when I find out what and why, I will post it here.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/wallbash.gif
HumanReaper
Ya, I unforntelty came to the same conclusion. It might just be with this version, I am crossing my fingers about this. Also with any luck they will fix it eventually. I will also post anything if I find out anything new.
