Shadows

It just occurred to me that shadows while non existent in the game are applied to the character and NPCS and do correspond with the direction that light is hitting them (if i member correctly). so why cant you take the way that is done and add it to statics like clouds buildings ect? Does anyone know how the shadows work on npcs and player? Is it a shader or is it something hardcoded? Edited by ecksile

is it possible that a shader is simply missing or wasnt added? Perhaps there's a way to "hack" a shader into work with shadowmap on statics (obge for NV?). idk. im just spouting what ever comes to mind. if it doesn't make sense just ignore it.

The Oblivion graphics extender (OBGE) team has been working on getting custom shaders and shadows working in Oblivion and they are almost there. Once that's done it should be possible to port it over to Fallout.

Holy cow, really?

That's awesome. With that kind of stuff you could make Oblivion potentially look as good as Skyrim. O.O
