Guest Messenjah
Ok, So I'm looking at setting up some custom animations for FO:NV and other Bethesda games. I'm thinking that because the skeletons set up by Bethesda are rather simple, something like DAZ 3D should suffice for such a project. I doubt that there is really any major call for anything very advanced. I've been reading into it and it looks like 2.5 will be necessary to import collada *dae files. DAZ studio can export this format out just fine. I'm not exactly sure how to get everything ported over to DAZ studio. Textures and such aren't really necessary as we only need to capture the motion and we should be able to port it to FO games. I was wondering for sure, if anyone has attempted this? Also, is it possible to get the head skeleton and the body skeleton all into one model to port over? I was thinking about starting with a walk cycle animation. Do I need to set it up so that the character actually moves forward during the walk cycle animation or do they just need to stay in place? One thing that would be nice is that DAZ has a puppeteering mode where you can select a grid of various poses and you can record a custom animation while dragging your mouse around between the different animations and the computer will interpolate between them. So, say, I want to create a dancer for my nightclub mod, I can create some various dance poses and drag my mouse between them while recording to get smooth interpolations and get a full dance animation with a lot of variety. :)
