Yeah, the same thing happens to me also.Just like how you described it.Since it started happening I began to play in windowed mode.Well for me I don't get an instant CTD.It just says that New Vegas isn't responding and the screen goes white. When that happens I usually leave it alone and let it sort things out by itself. For me it takes from a few seconds to about a minute(but thats rare). The only instant crash I have is when I try to exit the game.

I don't know if the crashes you guys are experiencing could be related to memoryusage, but mine seems to be. You know, the gameengine has a certain limit of memory it can use before it thinks it's exceeding the limit and goes crashing on itself, I'm not sure, but I think that if it gets a sudden surge of mods, combined with (I think some people talked about that) DLC-related things having been coded directly into the patch, the game thinks it's exceeding memory faster because it's loading more.

It all depends on if you're running it with LAA-launchers of course I guess, but whenever I disable some mods to free up some more address-space my game also seems to become more stable after that, not because I turn off "conflicting" mods, but because there's just more room for the game.

Then there's also the old saving-error where the gamefile corrupts itself, if that is what has happened the game will start crashing a few times randomly, after that regularly at intervals, until it just completely stops functioning properly at all. I don't know if there is anything to do about that other than deleting EVERYTHING related to the game, that's the only thing that's fixed things for me, it's not that long ago that that old STUPID error came around for me again.

Not sure if this helps anything or not

All you fellas might want to give my mod a try, it wont hurt and you might be surprised at the results. There are several versions available just do a little reading and try them all.

One thing though. you can't fnedit it or modify them in any way. They were specifically designed for these reasons seen on this thread. Some of the mods seen in a couple of load orders seen here are part of your crashing and freezing. But if you read a little and theres a lot to read, you will find all that out in one place. I'm quite busy but I do support the folks here with these problems. Use my discussion tab for any messages because the comment section has grown to large now. I will respond If needed. Here is the link.
