I just updated my Better Cities .esm from 4.9.0 to 4.9.7. as well as some other .esp's from the same mod. After that, I tried starting Oblivion from Wrye Bash and got this message:

errread, errwrite)

File "C:\Python26\lib\subprocess.py", line 842, in _execute_child

startupinfo)

WindowsError: [Error 740] The requested operation requires elevation

I also tried starting the game from the OBSE shortcut on my desktop and it stopped responding according to the task manager. I rebuilt the Bashed Patch hoping this would solve the issue and got the same problem. Unfortunately, I can't retrieve the original 4.9.0 Better Cities .esm to see if I can replace it with the new version and fix the problem. Anyone know what could be happening?

If you have Windows 7, make sure you're running OBSE_Launcher/Oblivion.exe as administrator.

Not to treat you dumb, but that's what 'elevated privileges' is 9 times out of 10 referring to.

I knew that and actually tried that already and it looked like it stopped loading, and the task manager said it wasn't responding. I just tried it again and it worked that time. I'm not sure if that message still pops up on Wrye Bash. I don't seem to have lost all my progress, so that's good anyway.
