kvatchcount
So recently I had to change computers because my recent gaming computer fell apart because of some a**hole in RL and I decided to copy all the files from the old one to the new one. I have installed Skyrim on the new computer and I cant get past the launcher, nor do I have Update.esm or Skyrim.esm in my load order, I also don't have the creation kit either, despite buying the creation kit with Skyrim. Any help would be appreciated... obobski
Generally drag'and'drop of the Steam\Data folder works, but sometimes it doesn't. If you have your saves backed-up, I'd say just re-install with Steam (if you have the DVD media from way back when it can speed up the install), and then just restore your saves and its fine. CK doesn't cost anything, but will have to be re-installed; the wiki has directions (http://www.creationkit.com/Main_Page) - The Creation Kit is free to anyone with a PC copy of Skyrim and a Steam account. Don't have it yet? Click here to purchase Skyrim on Steam. The Creation Kit can be found in your Steam Library, in the Tools section, or by clicking this link. For more information on Skyrim and the Steam Workshop, click here. As long as you re-install Skyrim and associated mods correctly, and you aren't missing any dependencies, you should have no problems just throwing the saves into the game's associated folders (Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves) and away you go. If you're missing any dependency or master that the save needs, you will run into varying degrees of problems.
kvatchcount
Yeah but, I copy and pasted from my computer to the new one, so I shouldn't be missing any master files.

Yeah but, you are missing master files, and arguing with me likely didn't change that. "Copy and paste" isn't a 100% flawless solution (as I previously said), and its possible the transfer was cut short/interrupted by something, or certain files weren't copied properly due to permissions not being setup correctly. You may try Steam's "check game files" option but IME that's more of a band-aid than a fix - re-installing the game is the cleanest solution, and as long as you've got your savegames backed up, you won't lose anything in the process. CK will have to be re-installed either way, and is done via Steam (I provided directions).
