ilikeawp
Quick and easy fix for me was to simply disable the 'Quickloot' mod. I made sure the folders were clean of any leftover .dlls and it works like a charm now.Thank you!
Arembee
The culprit for me was a left over SKSE-plugin (DATA/SKSE) as described above I only removed the .swf and the .ini-filesfor Quick-loot leaving the .dll file which probably made SKSE make an evil loop or something, now I can save again!! Sorry for re-heating an ancient thread, but I have been searching extensively, and this is the most promising solution of all. However, my SKSE folder looks clean. Data\SKSE is empty, and \Plugins only has three .dll files and those are for mods that I currently use, so no left-overs. The strange thing is that I can re-enable my save options by briefly entering SteamVR menu. I am playing Skyrim VR via SteamVR on Oculus Quest 2. If I press the menu button on the controller, SteamVR menu opens and the game pauses into the map screen. I just have to select Back To Game, and look at that, Quicksave and Save are no longer greyed out! This is just a very annoying way of saving the game. EDIT: resolved! And now I feel stupid. I used the wrong button. Well, technically, I thought the Y button is for waiting, but I just noticed that I have been pressing it for too long. A short press on Y, and the Esc menu opens, and Save options are enabled. I used to go to the Esc menu by entering the map screen and then selecting System. Apparently saving is disabled in the map screen, so... yeah. What I do not understand is when I enter map screen by briefly opening the SteamVR menu, then the Save options are not disabled...Anyway, problem solved. There never was a problem.
