DZ302
Hello, I've done Fallout Modding but brand new to Oblivion, I'm using OMOD and I can't seem to find a good load order for common/popular mods like you find in FO3. Anyway here's a screenshot of OMOD and all of my mods, I don't have many, but can't get the game to launch. (I also have QTP3) http://i.imgur.com/BWjYn.png Also deadly Reflex was coming up with some error about conflicts, so I chose to leave it out for now, some advise on that would also be helpful Cheers Edited May 10, 2011 by DZ302
DZ302
It's something with All Natural, do I need Wyre Bash to install that even if I want to use OMOD? Edit: I got it working, turns out it was an issue with subfolders in All Natural, I manually added each one, I didn't know there was a script. Is it possible to have Deadly Reflex working with those mods? Edited May 10, 2011 by DZ302
ArmeniusLOD
There should be no problem using Deadly Reflex with those mods. OBMM's conflict detector is often unreliable so you should rely on the documentation that comes with the mods instead.
Tamujiin
Trust me dude, those are not popular mods. One you should get deadly reflex 5.0. Use natural enviroments. My suggestion is start in the top 100 and work down. Decide what you want, and download it. Then go from different tag searches. Fallout 3 and oblivion are 2 different games. Entirely, and ill be honest with you, If its good for fallout 3, it probably isnt for oblivion. When adding mods, NEVER compare the two to each other. If you follow that rule you wont end up with random crashes a lot. And trust me my good man Learn to use the various utilities, like wrye bash and TES4edit. ( thats the only thing similar to fallout 3 :) )
DZ302
Hmm I thought they all were in the top 100, they all had hundreds of thousands of downloads. I find Oblivion to be a lot more of a pain to mod, maybe FO3 had better mod tools I dunno. There's so many different tools required for oblivion, rather than just download a character you have to use photoshop, face exchange, etc...It's such a pain :( Edited May 10, 2011 by DZ302
Tamujiin
Here is the deal, I guess i figure that there are similarities to the two games, like load order.I am currently re-modding oblvivion ( adding mods ) and i guess the best tool i have to do this is my fallout 3 load order. Fallout 3 is way easier to make conflict free for two reasons, Less mods, and everybody that makes the mods have experiance from making mods for oblivion. The BOSS for oblvion works way freaken better for oblvion , than fallout 3, because more users Let the BOSS people know about mods in OB. And just because a mod has 100,000 downloads, doesnt mean it is/is not, going to conflict with every other mod in oblvion.I guess a big rule of thumb is add a few good mods here and there, Don't over do it, and if you want to attempt to over do it, than learn all the utilities, for either game. My personal number one Rule when adding a mod to any game is, read the read me. If it isnt a decent read me, and just a few sentances, the mod probably isnt worth it. NEED TO KNOW FOR oblvion utilities:OBMM, Wryebash, BOSS, TES4edit.NEED to know for fallout 3: Fo3edit, Fomm.....All you need for fallout 3 is to know how to mod up using fo3edit. You cant do that with TES4. Edited May 10, 2011 by einhander888
Telyn
Natural Environments was really great in its day but is outdated now and causes a much bigger hit to fps even patched. All Natural can use all the weathers from Natural Environments and is still in current development and modern. It's a very popular mod and it works great if installed correctly. If someone does want Natural Habitat from Natural Environments, they can still install only that part. There are many water mods to choose from. I see that you have disabled some items that are for mods and DLCs you don't own. You might want to remove those. It's not good practice to leave them there even if they are disabled. I think in your case you can just disable and re-enable the mods in OBMM since you used OMODs. Follow the scripts that should ask you questions or offer choices of what to install. Don't install parts for mods and DLC you don't have. Definitely run BOSS to get the best load order.
