Deleted6541174User Posted February 12, 2016 Share Posted February 12, 2016 Just an idea where soldiers both yours and the AI's are the trained soldiers they are. Thus if a target is say in the open thus not in cover, they are almost always going to be hit if shot at. Well if a target is in half cover and not hunkered down, they have a low chance of being hit if the cover can't be shot through. Well if they are behind full cover that is sturdy and able to stop gun fire, they are immune to gun fire unless flanked.This makes combat a lot more challenging and unforgiving to mistakes, well a bit more realistic. And makes equipment and special ability much more valuable. But this would I'd assume some changes to Ai would have to happen, and I'm not to familiar with mods in X-com so I don't know how well this can be done. Still think this would be a neat thing, that would make the game a bit better for those of us who get way to annoyed with the RNG system. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SakuraKoi Posted February 12, 2016 Share Posted February 12, 2016 There is one thing worth mentioning apart from the fact that AI may need to be adjusted indeed, namely the variable angle bonus. Adjusting the values for high and low cover is as easy as changing two values but the angle bonus, well, involves three. :tongue: Namely the angle, min and max bonus. But well there is also a flanking aim bonus which is currently set to 0 for all units, I guess you want that changed as well. Lastly XCOM Cover is immune to most damage on all difficulty levels but one, Legend, that should be also worth noting. Now all those can be easily changed and certainly, the angle bonus should not just be 0 while but also XCOM Cover should be destructible then even if alien cover can also be made indestructible .
