PyFFI

So I downloaded PIFFI, and I dropped my entire Meshes folder into the In folder, started up run_oblivion_optimize. The window came up...nothing really much happened... hit a key to close it, and my whole Meshes folder was still in the In folder.

So basically I followed these instructions:

Step 1 - place the meshes (or folders with meshes) to be optimized inside the 'in' folder.

Step 2 - run or double-click 'run_oblivion_optimize.bat'.

Step 3 - after the optimization finishes, meshes that were optimized are placed inside folder 'out', respecting the directory structure inside the 'in' folder as usual.

Did I mess it up? Does it not work with folders that have sub-folders or something? I tried just a folder with meshes in it and that had similar results.

Do you have the newest version of PyFFI? To run the optimization you should right-click on "x:\Program Files (x86)\PyFFI\utilities\toaster\oblivion_optimize.ini" and click Run PyFFI. The console screen should show a bunch of information while it's running, such as the new triangle count of a mesh as it optimizes it. If you installed to Program Files you'll probably have to set permissions up for the folder. Right click on the PyFFI folder, click Properties, click the Security tab, click Edit..., select Users from the top list box, check Allow Full control in the bottom list box, and Apply the changes. When PyFFI is done the console window will say "Finished, press ENTER to close" or something similar. After it's done the "in" folder will still contain all your unoptimized meshes and the "out" folder will contain all the optimized ones. You should then overwrite the files in "in" with the ones from "out" because "out" will probably not contain all the meshes since PyFFI will skip certain ones.
