VGI
Ok, I don't know what happened, but I think it is Francesco's Living Economy, which it part of his mod, that did this: Some items that used to cost 1 gold in the game is now 0 gold. Items like certain shoes and clothes. But some clothes still cost 1 or even 2 gold. What happened? I mean, the merchant displays an item in her shop that costs 0 gold? Why? I'm referring to the pigskin shoes, which used to cost 1 gold. But now its 0 gold but still displayed in the shop. Will other merchants still buy these items for at least 1 gold? Jasmine in the Merchant district sure doesn't. But I'm wondering, will other merchants still do? PS: I noticed this because I installed the Conduit mod by Kamikaze. I have to buy a book in the 1st Edition shop that costs 455 gold. I'm currently poor in the game. So I'm thinking of raiding some bandits....yet again. PPS; I merged esp files using WyreBash's Bashed Patch. Francesco's Slower Skills x 1.5 is mergeable...but I am thinking of not using it anymore. How do I remove it from the Bashed Patch? ArmeniusLOD
You should use Enhanced Economy instead, but generally if an item is worth 0 septims it either means that merchant doesn't buy that type of item or the item is actually worth a fraction of a septim. The only way to remove a plugin merged into the Bashed Patch is to rebuild it. Edited May 11, 2011 by ArmeniusLOD

Yes, I know how to rebuild...but what do you do before rebuilding it so that it isn't in the Bashed Patch when you do rebuild it?
ArmeniusLOD
In the Merge Plugins list on the left side of the Rebuild window, click it and uncheck the plugin in the list on the right. You can also remove the plugin you don't want to use anymore from the Data folder, then it won't show up when you rebuild the patch.

Reading the description of Enhanced Economy and Francesco's Living Economy...I think TES4: Oblivion should display decimal figures in the pricing of items. I don't think that the items I now see as costing 0 gold actually costs 0 gold. If I understand from the descriptions of EE and LE, there really are items that costs less than 1 gold, just as you said, ArmeniusLOD. Is there a way to make Oblivion show decimals? Or (if I remember right from EE's description) rounding up to the closest whole number is hard-coded into TES4: Oblivion? Enhanced Economy is quite...too realistic. I'm having enough trouble getting money as it is, don't even have a house yet. And then I will have TAXES on house/s that I would buy (except one that is tax-free somewhere in the game world)? Forget it! For now at least. Edited May 11, 2011 by VGI

lasersgopewpew
I think EE has the option to display real values in its config file. Just try the mod, you won't regret it. LE is too buggy, and EE fixes that and adds a lot more options. Also, uh... you can disable house taxes if you like.
