Reprogramming unique robots with Robotics Expert

So I just hit level 44 and decided to pick up level 3 of Robotics Expert. Just for fun I cleared out a Boston school crawling with Raiders with my own personal Sentry Bot. That was fun, but I'd rather have an assaultron for improved mobility. There's one named Iron Maiden at the race track near East Boston, BUT when I go to command mode, I can only tell it to move to a certain location. Once it moves and a few seconds pass, it will return to it's default programming and go back to the track. Anyone know how I can override this behavior? I've tried a number of different modes at the robot command terminal, but nothing seems to work. I had similar problems with the Protectron override holotape and *some* Protectrons.
