Creating a dungeon/house

THIS POST IS ONLY MEANT FOR NICE PEOPLE - IF YOU'RE NOT A NICE PERSON, LEAVE NOW OR I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MESS THAT MIGHT COME TO HAPPEN IN HERE!

I just recently started to have a look at the world of mod'ing', as in making the mod's myself, with TES Construction Set. I'm only a newbie in this whole moding thing and so far I only know how to make godlike weapons.. :)

<Random text about myself that you do not need to read>

I love to be mighty, run my own kingdoms and stuff to that effect - Thus has 'Thieves Den' and 'Deepscorn Something' has been like chocolate to me. - And because of that,

</Random text about myself that you do not need to read>

I would like to create my own dungeon where I could try out TES CS and make it look pretty and stuff..

So if there really is a nice person out there who'd maybe like to help me out (I'm a fast learner.. :D) via IM(MSN,AIM etc..) or redirect me to a tutorial (cs.elderscrolls is down btw.. <.<;) that could lead me through the process, please do so! :D

Yes I'm ignoring the 'Search google for 2 days before posting' thumb rule but please save the cursing for your marriage debate.

As the CS wiki is down, most of the common tutorials related to the CS are also down. One of those nasty side effects of when people put too much faith in a company that has had a steady streak of failures lately. I had suggested that someone make a backup of the stuff in offline form, but I don't think anyone managed to do so. While this doesn't help you, it might provide some comfort knowing that a good many other modders and would-be modders have been screwed over by this whole incident. My best advise would be to look through what tutorials you can find that cover basic CS usage, and dig in with the expectation of making alot of mistakes. Once you have more specific things you need to know about, you could probably use the search feature on these forums to find places where that thing is discussed. I know that between Mezlo, Povuholo, Abramul, a few others, and myself that most of the common modding questions have been atleast mentioned somewhere. Where it is talked about, that person could probably elaborate if needed. While in situations like these, the community has to either rise up and ensure things continue, I wouldn't expect anyone to go and hold your hand through everything. Some stuff you just have to learn through failure, often failure is the best way to learn anything. Once you get the basics of the CS, making new forms, placing statics, ect, alot of the other stuff can be learned through trial and error.

However, until any real collection of resources is available, you may just have to postpone any real modding attempts.

Your always such an annoying negative j*rk with downright sarcastic comments.

Atleast from the two three threads I've seen you post in.

First, the CS wiki does appear to be back online. Second, Vagrant0 must be fairly gullible if he thinks I know what I'm doing. 8)

You've had a few moments of adeptitude (new word), or atleast you're among the group of people who help out a bit around here.

As to Inoue, or any others, yes I do occasionally make a sarcastic comment, or seem rather oppoesed to some people's ideas of that they think is right. But I usually spend most of my time here answering questions, and letting people know of the difficulties they will have to deal with when doing a mod. It is not my fault that they refuse to listen to any reason in this regard. It is not that I believe myself to always be right, actually I like being proven wrong since it means that there was something I overlooked somewhere, and may need revisiting. However I have spent a significant portion of time learning the CS, and doing as many different things as I can. I suppose I could be nicer when I explain how someone's ideas are extremely unlikely to be done, but that often ends up obscuring the reasoning behind the post, and people don't get the message. I say things as plain as I can, so they can be understood easily, that way there is no question. This may seem harsh, but if what is said is not understandable, nobody can benefit. If you feel I am in error about something, please don't bring it into unrelated topics, there is a PM system.

My post above wasn't meant as sarcasm of any kind. It was simply the best way to solve the problem if the wiki is down (as it will probably be again). Neither TES source, nor any of the other fansites has tutorials covering CS basics, or even ones dealing with standard creation of interiors, worldspaces, npcs, and other stuff. This means that if the CS wiki is down, the only place people can learn how to do these things is by painstakingly looking for mentions of how to do them within posts, or trying to do it themselves blindly. If you are aware of another alternative, I would be happy to hear about it. Unfortunately just making copies of the CS wiki would probably require getting permission from those who posted the information, and would require a host that can allow alot of site traffic, or downloads.
