yerude
I just installed the xcom2 sdk but it doesnt work.Everytime i start with an example project i got an error: "..\ExampleClassOverride2.x2proj' cannot be opened because its project type (.x2proj) is not supported by this version of the application. To open it, please use a version that supports this type of project. This kinda sucks. It appears to every kind of project i want to start. Didnt find any solution via google. serratemplar
That's odd. Do you have any other versions of VS installed? (Have you ever?) Were you I, I'd tear it all down and start over, being very painstaking about taking every single numbered step in the guide. Check for Visual Studio folders hidden in your user's AppData directories and under My Documents to make sure any profile/settings files are gone after your tear down. yerude
Yes i had a working VS2013 installed and used before very often and later VS2015 which also worked well. There is an update for Xcom SDK maybe this will help, but dont have time to try out at the moment. I will tell you if i managed to solve this problem.I could imagine i have problems with it because i always use different harddrives for working so i installed the SDK on G:\ (have many harddrives)In most cases it doesnt cause any problems but i very rare cases it can. I already checkec profile settings, everything looked fine. I have no clue what is causing the problem but i still hope i will find out.Actually i am not even sure if i still have so much interest in creating xcom2 mods because i was realy realy realy dissatisfied with xcom this time :/I like creating balance mods but i dont like to feel like beeing a free employee who actually does the balancing work without getting paid. And xcom2 realy needs ALOT work for balancing.
traenol
In regards to alternate drives, ModBuddy does not care, I have it installed on T, OS on C, and Game on D ... and works fine for me. As said above, check to make sure all the steps go through ... I had that error before and I followed the steps listed here to fix it:http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3798650-tutorial-how-to-get-xcom-2-sdk-up-and-running/?hl=%2Btutorial&do=findComment&comment=34601625 Edited February 25, 2016 by traenol

And xcom2 realy needs a lot work for balancing. This is subjective, of course, but personally I've found the game very well balanced in my playtime with it. I'm really having a lot of fun. Sorry you're not enjoying it. :(
