Mod a staff to cast a scrtipted spell?

I've been trying to get help with this for awhile now, no luck. I want to know if it is possible to create a script that will enable the Midas Magic status field spell to be casted from the Clockwork Staff in Echo's Staff Pack[/ur]

 

I want it to have the stave animations, but instead of casting a projectile, it casts the Status Field self spell.

Any scripters out there that can help? I tried putting it on the staff as an enchantment, but it doesn't show up in the list of enchantment scripts, the status field script is self spell only

Conduit Magic or Conduit Magic Unlimited should be able to handle this, though it will use your own magicka.
