TziporaHalevi
First off, thanks MasterYster for the awesome mod! For those who have not tried it:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41480 Warning you will have to start over once you follow all of the directions. But that's not what I'm here to discuss. With a bit of useage of FO3edit you can also get those old mods that have yet to be converted to New Vegas to work. I'm not sure how many people know that, so I just thought I'd post it up here as an FYI. I was trying to get Children of The Wastes onto Fallout New Vegas and followed a tutorial to get it working. Than I realized I couldn't get Alicia's cute Shop which adds additional outfits to the mod up and running. So I used F03edit on the files for that the same way I did for children of the wastes and slapped those into my New Vegas Data folder. Then all I had to do was wander on over to DC, enter the shop, buy the outfits than it was back to vegas with what I wanted. Requiem for a Wastes is awesome! :D
Moraelin
Personally I used FOMM to convert my old mods. Just click on the TES4 record in the tree, then double-click the MAST record and where it says Fallout3.esm, replace with FalloutNV.esm. Then you can just load it in GECK for the rest of the work. (Though personally I still like using FOMM all the way.) And for placing a crate, just load the mod in GECK. Then look at the lower right panel and choose a suitable interior or exterior. Doc Mitch's house, for example. (Though if you're going to release, you could be more creative.) Double click it. Now zoom in the render window, drag it around, etc, until you find a good spot to place the crate. Drag and drop the crate from the list of containers into the render window. Find it in the list for that cell in the lower-right panel, right-click, Edit. Now you can tweak the X, Y, Z coordinates and rotation until it sits just right. Or if you're placing a buried vendor container, just give it some -30000 coordinate on Z, so it's buried deep and good. If you want a vendor to sell that stuff, assign ownership of the crate to them. E.g., if you want the player to buy those clothes from Doc instead of robbing him blind, just make Doc the owner of the crate, and automatically he'll sell its contents. TziporaHalevi
For some reason GECK isnt working for me O.o I try loading mods and nothing happens. Just ignores what I put. Definitely would be an easier method than having to walk all the way to Big town from the beginning of New Vegas Edited May 13, 2011 by TziporaHalevi
Moraelin
Ah, you got hit by the patch 1.3 breaking the GECK, same as everyone else. Just grab the 1.3 GECK and all should be well. http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/downloads/geck.php
TziporaHalevi
When did that update? O.o I just downloaded the GECK like a week ago for the first time. Edited May 14, 2011 by TziporaHalevi
Moraelin
Then you may have downloaded the wrong version of the GECK in the first place. The Bethesda site can be awful to navigate and they do have a nearly identical page that points at the wrong GECK. Just replace ".php" with ".html" and you get the wrong GECK. Worse yet, that's a link people still post around.
