nKZz Posted February 15, 2016 Share Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) After playing more than 20 hours, I think a "soldiers list" to have a quick view of our squad state is a lack.The idea is to have an easy and fast way to see how many soldiers have some AP to use, their actual HP, etc.Also it could be useful to quickly select the one we need to move at the beggining a turn, for example. For me JA soldier overview was perfect. @nKZz: What I miss in your concept is the number of enemies a soldier sees. If there is enough space additionally with the hit chance. But with slight corrections; no Class symbols or HP bars & only the NickNames while Rookies get their images only. Less clutter == more battlefield details! :) Aliens "stack" could just go to the right side of the screen. Interactive and self-updating as well. Heck, even the Shadow-Chamber principle could be invoqued to add an "Aliens/Counter" reminder gimmick right above that stack.Another HUD item that should be added is a simple "Armor" type currently worn by the selected trooper -- ideally on the left of the Weapons Ammo depleter section. Don't forget that someone willing to tackle this project will have to deal with two other issues. 1) The Info tooltips (L&R) have UI priority and would just overlay whatever custom elements a mod will add to the tactical screens.2) When you have more than the default maximum of 6 troopers (a great mod already gives us Squad-Sizes III & IV upgrades)... your effective panel has to compensate for the supplemental slots. (VIP for example) with relevant informations (HP, AP, etc.) Both categories can be expanded or not using the plus and minus visible on the left of the section title. Also we can suppose the maximum displayed XCOMs has to be 6 and in situation where this number is bigger we can have tabs (one tab for 6 soldiers). If you have any ideas to make this better, just tell them :smile: By the way I hope a modder will take a look at this :please: PS : it is a quick drawn mod concept, please consider blocks as placeholders. I could be better to show the HP as number not as bar to save some space.
