Tommy V
I see there are 2 version of the patch 1.2.0416. One for the case you're using shivering isles, and one for the case you don't. The one for shivering isles is just over 1 mb and the other is about 5 mb. So if i'm right, installing shivering isles will allready change many things which will be changed in the 5 mb 1.2.0416 patch. Oblivion main download page: Please Note: You do not need to install this patch if you have already Installed the Shivering Isles expansion. However, when I reinstall the game (complete fresh version 1.0...), install shivering isles, and run the 1.2.0416 1mb shivering isles version patch afterwards, the following feature is missing:Updated Oblivion LauncherThe updated launcher now includes options for changing your auto detect settings for Video Quality. The presents are Very Low, Low, Medium, High and Ultra High. If you select Reset to Defaults, it will restart the auto detect and offer the best settings for your system. This feature is not missing when you install the 1.2.0416 5mb version without shivering isles. So I doubt if this way of patching to 1.2.0416 leads to all the improvements discribed in the release notes. It's also strange that the 1mb shivering isles patch is done in less then one second. Is this normal? What is the best way to use the latest version with shivering isles?
PunisherX100
I have the same question. I have not installed the 1.2 patch yet because I've heard of numerous problems. I do not have shimmering Isles yet. Should I even bother patching?
