Boboy
Okay so I'm trying to change a partner mod to make the NPC a different race. The only issue I have is that I don't understand TESConstruction very well yet. What I wanted to do was switch the character's race into a custom race I downloaded, so in the TESC I set the Partner Mod and the Race Mod as active files, duplicated the race to change it up some and set the NPC as the new race. There isn't a button anywhere that has 'New Mod' spelled out so I just hit the Save button, doesn't give me a prompt about saving over a file or if I'd like to make a new file, and then pretty much nothing happens/work Lookin at a tutorial to make new races, but it's kinda vague so far. So, how do I change the plugin to make the new mod stick?
Boboy
[update] Note to self: just hit combine plugins to try and see if that worked and it f***ed up the game, got to reinstall it now -__- [Edit, take two] nvm it fixed as soon as I deleted the bad esm Edited May 14, 2011 by Boboy
Astymma
Copy your partner mod file and rename it. Open TES4Edit. Load CM Partners esm, your new plugin, the race esp/esm and oblivion esm.Right click your plugin and check the masters (should be oblivion esm and cm partners esm) and right click the plugin name and choose add master and pick the race esp or esm, whichever has the RACE entry. Now edit the partner to point to the new race and save the plugin.Just be aware that from this point forward, if you added an esp as a master, the CS will break the mod when you save as it will discard esp masters so you'll have to re-add the esp master in something like TES4Edit. Another option is to copy all the race related entries from the race plugin to the partner plugin and have it just use oblivion esm and cm partners esm as masters. You're going to find that neither solution is easily done using TESCS and MUCH easier to do in TES4Edit.
