Difficulty locating TES VI install via Steam

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I've been poking around the forums for well over an hour now looking for an answer to a question but to no avail. I don't know, maybe I just missed where this problem had been resolved, and if so I apologize for the repeated question.

My question is, where did Steam stash Oblivion?

I just installed TES VI via Steam and I'm not finding the game's files on my computer. I checked the SteamApps folder where some demos and my other two Steam games are, but they were both physical installs instead of a Steam DL. Also, I can start the game and play, but I can't locate the files for modding, even searching on my C drive where everything is located yielded no results.

Thanks in advance for any assistance on the matter.

As an after thought, I'm worried that this is going to be a very simple answer and I'm going to end up facepalming because I didn't think to check. >.<

I don't have Oblivion on Steam, from what I've seen of other forum posts it can be problematic getting some mods working with it. I have been forced to use Steam though for Mount and Blade Warband, and I found my M&B folder in C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\ (USERNAME:your username).

You may find Oblivion there, but don't count on it. Sorry but it's the only thing I can suggest, so good luck anyway!

Awesome info guys, thanks a lot. =) I'm gonna throw in the BS flag though, I know I looked in that file and there was no Oblivion folder, but I think what happened is I didn't restart my computer after install. Also, now when I search my C drive I pull up my Oblivion folder as well as its saved game folder which weren't popping up last night at all.

Regardless, thanks for the input guys, I appreciate the rapid response. Happy gaming. =)

Yes, absolutely. All mods will work with the steam version. Steam worked with the OBSE team to make a steam compatible version of OBSE. Now, even those mods that require OBSE work.
