im trying to run nevada project , but when i download (3 times now) NVSE it does not come with any flies marked .exe . there are 3 .dll files and i put them in the new vegas game folder as the readme says but when i try to start the game using the NVSE loader i get an error saying Couldn't find FalloutNV.exe. im excited to try nevada project but am stuck.

fomm is about worthless here as it seems to load it but never really does (like any and all mods ive tried)

im not a computer genius but im not dumb either what needs to be done?

You don't use FOMM to install NVSE - it will put files in the wrong place. You need to extract the NVSE zip file, then copy the files to the main fallout directory - the same directory where falloutnv.exe is located

If you had read the readme you would have learned that FOSE is NOT a mod and does not install like a mod. It is a utility program for working with mods and runs outside of the game. Putting it in with the mods is a sure way to not get it to work. Nearly everyone here uses FOMM to help work with mods. If you install it properly it seems to work for everyone else, as do the mods.

FalloutNV.exe is the actual game itself and is installed by the game installer when the game is installed.

As said above, it MUST be installed by copying those .dll files into the same folder where the falloutnv.exe file was installed when you installed the game. it can be found at wherever you installed steam\Steam\Steamapps\Common\fallout new vegas\FalloutNV.exe

Mods don't have .exe suffixes either. However most have .esp or .esm suffixes - Bit not all have that either - READ the readme for each mod First for special install instructions. Then, unzip and install the mods into the data folder at Steam\Steamapps\Common\fallout new vegas\data

Pick a simple mod and get it working first. Then you will have a better understanding of what you need to do to get the other mods working.
