expertnoob
I recently built a new computer and saw that Fallout 3 was half off on GfWL. Since I enjoyed it on the 360 and heard about the numerous mods available, I decided to download it and try FWE (seemed like more of a change than FOOK). I tried multiple times on two installs to do an "alternative start". As soon as I'd select "Wake up", the game would freeze (sometimes displaying the terminal and allowing a second or two of movement, other times just blackscreening, always continuing a few seconds of the father's dialogue from the prior scene). This was annoying, but I thought there would be a small chance that if I played the normal route things would go fine - and they did until I tried to leave vault 101 and got blackscreened again. Given this, there appears to be something happening around character finalization. Other aspects of the mod appear to be operating correctly (e.g. water restores no health, med-x is morphine). The only thing that might be amiss is that the FWE Control Panel is not available through the pip-boy menu while in the vault (but i'm not certain if you only gain access to this upon leaving the vault or not - seems reasonable.) Relevant Information:OS: Win 7 Professional 64-bitSystem: 2500k i5, Radeon 6850Game source: Games for Windows Live, non-program file install locationOther files installed: Broken Steel, FOSE, FOMM (all most recent version as of 5/13)FWE Version: 6.0 + 6.03 patchFWE mods enabled: Craft, Calibr, FO3 Wander's Edition - Main File.esm, FWE DS.esp, FWE Main File.esp, FWE Optional tracers (automatics only).espMisc: Performed multi-core fix (iNumHWThreads=2, bUseThreadedAI=1) Has anyone else had any experience with this issue? I've tried quite a few google searches and read the FWE documentation and couldn't see anything that seemed to match it well. If there's any more information that would be useful, let me know and I'll provide. Edited May 16, 2011 by expertnoob
