FritzDerochebrune
Well, since I'm interested in WWII histoy, I thought to make this post. The question is simple: Which country fought best against the Germans during Fall Gelb (and invasion of France, some people see this as two different campaigns)? It might be obvious, but I have to chose for the Netherlands. These are my reasons: - Altough inferior to the german army in both manpower and technology, the Dutch fought so hard the Germans had to bomb R'dam to force a surrender. - The Dutch forces managed to hold the Grebbeline for four days, under constant shelling and attacks from the superior German forces. The Germans wanted to breach the line on the first day. - The Dutch Army was the only army to win major battle during the 1940 campaign: the battle for The Hague. By winning this battle, the Dutch Royal Family could escape and the first POW's were made (Haven't found any numbers from the Norwegian Campaign) - The Dutch managed to destroy a huge amount of German Ju 52's, mostly around The Hague, using only 4 AAguns from the Calvé (peanutbutter) Factory. If you think another country fought better, I would like to hear why. Cya Fritz
