Jah92
if there is, what town should I go to first for easiest quests and then where from there? or should I explore and find out what I should put off until later? I will try to wander around to see what quests I can get done. Note I am one that likes to go in order of easiest to hardest.

Personally, I wander a round a bit going to random ruins and fighting marauder camps until I grow a few levels and get access to better equipment/ money to buy thing to train the harder skills. Honestly though, I do it different every time. . . hehe  Edit: Start with the one right outside the tutorial sewer gates - - it's a good starter one, and is just as fun. BigRedNole
If this is a vanilla Oblivion install, just wander and follow the main quest. It is not too difficult. As you get near one city, explore. If you are using some of the big mods like OOO, MMM, FCOM, etc, it is definitely not easy. You need to slowly level and properly level.
suzypike
I posted a thread similar to this a few weeks ago. I had a lot of good advice about where to start. There is a ruin right across the river from the sewers. You can kill some bandits, work on your skills, and get some pretty good starting loot there. Also, the beginning quests for mages guild are pretty easy and take you to each city, which is kind of nice.My particular mod that I can't live without is a house with fast travel. This is probably because I was a big Morrowind player and was spoiled by the recall spell. You can buy houses in Oblivion, but unless I haven't figured out how, you can't fast travel to them. There are a ton of good house mods. Assassin's Abode is in the Imperial City, very simple. It's not one of those huge house mods. Just a place to rest and stash your stuff.Have fun!suzy
bben46
As Suzy pointed out you will need a house to store your stuff. If you leave anything laying around or in publicly accessible storage it will vanish when the cell resets (3 game days without visiting that cell). The cheapest vanilla house is the IC waterfront shack. It has everything you need in a house to start with - including secure storage that will not lose your stuff. and a bed - you need to sleep in a bed to level up. If you don't have a house you will need to find a bed. You will have to do some adventuring and selling to get enough gold to buy it though. After you buy a house you can fast travel to it, so having a house in each city can be handy. House mods run from a hole in the ground to mansions and castles with a staff of dozens. Some are free, but the best will involve a quest. Such as Glenvar Castle (don't try this one at first level)
