Tail problems

If questions about how to work around the Construction Set's bugs/ glitches go someplace else, please let me know and I'll put my questions there.

 

Here's my problem, two in fact.

 

I'm trying to make a new feline race for myself. I'll eventually add a custom head to make them look more house-catish than the lion-headed Khajiit.

 

But every time I try to add the tail, I get bone-related errors, and the tail misbehaves. This is not my first try making these cat-people. The tail worked perfectly before. Why is it suddenly different?

 

I tried googling for answers. The best I found suggested changing the skeleton to use skeletonbeast.nif. This fixed the problem with the tail, and added a whole new one! Now I have no idle animation.

 

I encountered this problem while trying to find a work-around for my first problem [chronologically speaking]. When I first made my catfolk race, everything worked perfectly. Textures looked good, animations were good, everything was cool. Then, without explanation, the female textures turned a murky gray-blue, the facial texture changed to the dark elf facial texture, and would cause a game-crash whenever the game tried to load a female catfolk.

 

Please someone tell me how to fix this. I had it all working so nicely, and now it's all falling apart.

 

Here's a look at my latest attempt to make this work. I'm using the default khajiit textures for everything on them, save for the eyes. The eye textures here were my creation.
