I noticed the Trooper and Rogue classes both have purchaseable perks in the GTS, but I cannot locate anything in the ini files that relates to this. I assume this means I'd need to learn whatever it is that the uc files use?

 

Is there a tutorial on adding new abilities to the game in general, or to the GTS?

The ini files have a lot of things, but that only scratches the surface. In the pinned thread, take a look at the class modding guide. I mention the rifleman mod quite a bit, but in this case it is particularly relevant since it also adds a GTS project.

Followed the guide to make my class, the GTS is not once mentioned or referenced. Why the rifleman specifically? Does that creator have a tutorial in his readme or within his ini files that Trooper or Rogue classes lack? Trooper and Rogue both add GTS projects, but since the ini files don't cover it, I am clueless where to look or how to replicate this, as I only know how to manipulate ini files.

I haven't found any good resources to learn uc syntax. In fact I find it pretty weird. There aren't any guides specifically for modding XCOM uc files that I know about; but it has only been two weeks since the game was released. To start, I recommend downloading the sdk and running the example weapon mod. Then look at the files it contains. Then look for the GTS parts of the rifleman mod. Don't be afraid to blunder about, and do check here for new guides as people write them.

I've got the SDK downloaded already, as I've created a Class for XCOM soldiers already. http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/288/? I simply wanted to update to include the GTS tactic. Guess I'll look at the example weapon mod(hadn't wanted to futz with weapons yet, but if it'll teach me uc modding, may as well look.) Thanks!

 

Edit: After looking at the example and the classes, I was left scratching my head... so for the time being, I suppose I'll just wait for a tutorial to explain it in a more 'dummy friendly' way.
