Deadliest Warrior Idea

This is just a cool idea that popped into my head. If I ever get good enough at modding, I'd love to do it, but until then, here it is... :D

 

I've seen every episode of Deadliest Warrior so far. For those who don't know, Deadliest Warrior is a show that matches historical warriors against each other (like Spartan vs Samurai). I think it would be AWESOME if the ancient weapons and armor of Deadliest Warrior were taken into Oblivion. :teehee: I just think it would add a lot of versatility in the kind of character you could be... not to mention the potential of combining it with companion mods :thumbsup: Also, as for the more modern weapons and armor, it's anybody's choice. But I think you can understand why I think that tommy guns and AKs are extremely out of place in Oblivion. :whistling:

 

Well, that's it I guess. Deadliest Warrior Weapon/Armor Pack. :tongue: Just give it a thought or two. For those who haven't seen the show, try it out.

Hmm, I think a cool project would be to gradually cover all the ancient ones over time. :tongue: But if I had to name a few cool choices now... Maybe the weapons/armor of the Aztec Jaguar, Zande Warrior, Maori Warrior, or perhaps Shaka Zulu. :thumbsup: Want a list of their weapons and equipment?

Okay, what seems to be a common theme in your choices is a tribal theme. Their weapons aren't totally unique, but what you would want to start with is something simple. A macquatial, the "Obsidian Chainsaw", would be easy blender work for someone.

Yeah, I do seem to be particularly found of tribal themes. :tongue: But also, I think options like the gear on Alexander the Great or a similar warrior would take longer/be harder. Like you said, start off simple. :thumbsup: you say the macuahuitl would be easy, right? What are your thoughts on the Zulu equipment?

Those are fairly complex. The Kpinga would require a throwing weapons script, and it is a complex shape. The Boto/Pima combo is merely arrows and bow. The others are a spear and a sickle.

Don't forget: the problem for new weapons usually is not the the weapon model. It's much harder to make (good) animations. And mostly you need at least 4 per waepon (equip, unequip, attackleft, attackright).

Pfft, I can't even figure out how to MAKE an anim. They are so complicated!

Making animations it totally simply. Much easier than make and texture a model. It's only hard to make GOOD animations. The ones that don't look silly :)

You're thinking of the Zande equipment. :smile: I'm refering to the weapons/gear carried by Shaka Zulu:

 

Ilkwa spear

Ishlangu shield

Iwisa club

Zulu axe

if you're really good, you might even find a way to bring in his poison spit!
