Bought Honest Hearts, but....

So yeah I bought Honest Hearts but I have no idea how go about strating the DLC. I'm assuming its like everything else you get a quest but I do not have one. Also my NVSE is out of date, I'm pretty horrible with knowing wtf goes on in terms of having mods with this game. Do i need to move it up on my load order for FOMM? Do I need to update NVSE?

Appreciate any help. Thanks

if it installed correctly, a message should popup talking about a trade caravan or something (never read the message so i dont know what it actually says). and if your version of NVSE is out of date, then you need to update it as well

K so I have updated NVSE and I got the message saying where to go. But now theres another problem, when i go to "Northern Passage" where the quest tells me I just see 2 red exclamation points; 1 is right about in the center of the rocks which I assume is the npc and the other is next to it which is about halfway under the ground. Is this NVSE again or another mod?

I'm currently running (In load order)

-Weapon Mod Expansion.esm

-AWorldOfPain(Preview).esm

-FalloutNV.esm

-HonestHearts.esm

-M14.esp

-RCSS.esp

-Weapon Mod Expansion.esp

-Tactical Weapon Pack.esp

-SecretStash20.esp

-Grenade Hotkey.esp

-NewVegasBounties.esp

If anyone has had an experience with this problem please let me know. Thanks

Make sure that you have HH installed correctly, I ran into a nasty bug with red exclamation marks myself when I thought that Steam had finished installing the DLC. It turned out that a whole .bsa archive was missing and I had to restart Steam to get it to download the missing file.

yeah i actually found out that I did not have the files installed correctly now i manged to get into the save. But now I can't possibly get myself under 100 weight without sacrificing all my stuff. Is there a way to go around this or set my weapons weight to zero or something?

Don't know of any way to get around that weight limit, but having to carefully choose what to take with you is part of the challenge.

well my main problem is that I just have weight for some reason, I emptied out basicly everything except for a few guns and my armor and stimpacks but i still have like freaking 250 weight

Turns out there's a way to alter the weight limit. It's an ugly hack job, but it seems to work. You have to change some conditions in Jed's dialogue.

Load up HonestHearts.esm in the GECK,click on Character and then Filtered Dialogue...

In the 'Filter NPC' list, scroll down until you find the NPC named NVDLC02Jed

In the Editor ID window you'll see an entry that says 'GREETING', click the entry below it.

To the right, under the 'Info' line, you will see plenty of dialogue text. The interesting ones are those that start with {Player is carrying more than 50 lbs}

Look below and you'll see an interesting function called InventoryWeight. Increasing it will allow you to carry more weight into Zion Canyon.

Pic for clarity (I've raised the weight values from 75 to 350 and 100 to 500):
