Rocopherus
Was doing some building at the Red Rocket Base and was trying to get something built underneath the roof but these nozzles are just in the way (see image.) I tried using the disable command on them but they are part of the red rocket building and it obviously then disabled the entire station. Similarly, it would be great if someone could get rid of the concrete block (again, see image) as it suffers from the same issue. I was wondering if it were at all possible to remove these or if we would have to wait for the GECK to appear, if it ever does http://i.imgur.com/j0udTiqh.jpg Edited February 22, 2016 by Rocopherus
VIitS
It is definitely possible, but the only method I have learned so far uses 3ds max, and for some reason I can't export collision info for Fallout 4. So if I did it, you would be able to just walk through the building like it wasn't there. Which is really annoying, because I didn't figure that out until I spent a few hours changing a vanilla mesh to fit my needs. And it seems to be a problem with my install, because the plugin page for Niftools and 3ds max says it works for collision, and I have no idea what to do. If it was working, I could already have this done (with 3ds max, deleting certain parts of a mesh is trivial), but the f***ing collision is screwing me over, and it really pisses me off. If you don't mind being able to walk through walls, I can have it done for you in a few minutes. Edit: Alternatively, I can give you a mesh with the parts you want removed gone, but invisible collision meshes where they used to be. If you also get the Place Everywhere mod (requires F4SE), then you can ignore the invisible collision meshes and build stuff there. You would still walk into them, but the ground ones are unnoticeable, and the higher up ones would only be a problem if you built a certain way. In any case, here is the mesh minus the pumps and all that, but with invisible collision meshes where the stuff used to be:https://www.dropbox.com/s/f1vjbgp6fp7gfwk/Red%20Rocket.zip?dl=0I replicated the vanilla file structure, so you just have to drop the meshes folder in your data folder. Hell, I think NMM might be able to do it for you if you use "Add mod from file". Anything better would require me to figure out why the nif plugin for 3ds max won't let me export collision data for Fallout 4. One last note: this replaces the vanilla mesh, so those pumps will be missing from all Red Rockets
zilav
There is no working collision exporter for Fallout 4 since it requires never released version of Havok SDK.
VIitS
There is no working collision exporter for Fallout 4 since it requires never released version of Havok SDK.Hmm, I guess I was confused by the wording on the plugin page. Looking back at the description, The plugin currently consists of an exporter, importer and a miscellaneous properties (Collision, Dismemberment, Furniture Markers) for 3ds Max and gmax for read and writing Gamebryo/Netimmerse related files and specifically targeted at Skyrim.I was paying too much attention to the description of what it does, and not paying enough attention to the bit at the end specifying that it was targeted at Skyrim (somehow I missed that multiple times, when I went back and re-read it). Do you know how people are making custom collision meshes for new structures then?
zilav
That's for Skyrim.People don't and can't make collision meshes in Fallout 4 yet, they just copy collision node(s) in nifscope from other suitable meshes and/or apply simple scaling/rotation. Rocopherus
Thanks so much for the the effort, it looks so much better now. Will keep an eye on this thread in the hopes that you can sort collision out, but don't stress yourself about it. If it can't be done at the moment, not much you can do. Here's a couple of screens of what my RR looks like now too http://i.imgur.com/cAbfpvEh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UhqHQ3gh.jpg
