loveandpolitics
Hello all, I just bought a new PC: 2600K, 4Gigs Ram 1600mhz, 560 GTX and I want to replay Oblivion before Skyrim comes out later this year. I would like a list of all the graphics mods I need to give Oblivion a whole new look. I'll probably be playing with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. So which mods do I need to bring Oblivion up to 2011 standards?
LegacyCloud
To overhaul the look of Oblivion I'd recommend the following; - RAEVWD (Really Amost Everything Viewing When Distant) Though this will push your graphics beyond the maximum - I run dual FX4500 graphics cards with 8Gb of RAM and even with the Oblivion 4Gb patch, it struggles!- To complement RAEVWD I'd recommend Map Marker Overhaul as the reduced viewing distance for map marker on the compass, really complements the fact that you can see dungeons, ruins etc from miles away with RAEVWD!- Also, unique landscapes compilation - always a good way to forge a new look for the Oblivion landscape!- Better Cities is also a good one, there's also a couple out there that complement this with window lighting and even chimney smoke (I use Texians Window Lighting System, but there are others.- Along side BC, I'd recommend Immersive Interiors- If you want to include the HUD, I'd recommend Darnified UI & one of the colour map mods- COBL and Francesco's are great to 'refresh' the gaming experience, just like OOO (I run all three)- Ambient Inns & Ambient Dungeons are great for changing the visual atmosphere of the dungeons in the game- Valenwood Improved & Elsweyr Anequina are great for expanding the playable game area- Don't forget to also consider overhauling the characters in game, use something like HGEC bodies (Hi-Res) and better races to improve the looks of the NPC's- The player home Castle Legacy also plays beautifully with visuals (and pushes graphics engines!). - Bit of shameles self promotion I know, but I think it could play into the new look your after: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38365 :P - There's also a lot of great content mods out there like Lost Spires, Return of Shadows, Tears of the Fiend & Gates to Aesgaard 1&2; all of these are visually impressive and they all add a lot to the game Anyways, Hopefully this will give you some direction!
