Smoske
Hi, first time posting here so I hope I don't break any rules already with this ^^; (I checked around a bit but don't think I found anything about this sort of requests) I was wondering if it would be possible (or allowed) to make a mod so you could play Fallout 3 and New Vegas with elder scrolls races such as Argonians, Khajiit, Bosmer, Dremora, minotaur etc... ?While I have browsed through the nexus for both those games I have not come across any such mods. Although if I missed them somehow I'd appreciate it if someone could point me towards any such mods :) Reason I'm asking is that I've been playing some FO3 with the starfox mod (which was removed for some reason, possibly copyright?) and found it an interesting change once in a while. So I got to wondering what it might be like to explore the wasteland as a khajiit or Argonian for example.I'd think argonians and Khajiit and orcs could sort of fit into the fallout lore if some rules are stretched a bit...Orcs could be some kind of super mutant, though less savage and more intelligent.Khajiit and Argonians could be lizards and cats that survived by eating irradiated human corpses or flesh which caused them to mutate over time. The bosmer, altmer and dunmer could be some slightly mutated humans perhaps. Well so far my idea... Looking forward to see if anyone else might be interested in this or could actually try to make such a mod. I for one would definitely appreciate it ;)
Steamlined
Easily possible. You'd need to have FO3 (Obviously) and an elder scrolls game (Oblivion would be best, but Skyrim or Morrowind may work too.) then just use the editor that bethesda has for FO3. I'd do it myself, but I don't have Oblivion, and my copy of FO3 is missing :(
nivea
Harder then you think, you would have to rework all the heads in a program such as Blender even more work if you want the heads to actually move and blink. Also animations are different and skeletons in each game, there are no tail animations. So its possible, lots of work though and there would be no way to release something like that on sites such as Nexus since it would not be legal. EroticVulture
i thought about that too (which is weird cause usually i dont like lore/style breaking stuff). only that i think it should replace all npcs not just a new race for the player
Tristen112
Hey, Just thought I'd attempt to breathe some life into the thread. Since Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV run on the same engine, it shouldn't be too hard. the only issue is that i heard its not legal to do unless you make oblivion one of the requirements. I have an idea, however! The Argonian/ Khajit mod should use these mods: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44676/? http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/14942/? http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/15624/? I really hope someone picks this up!
devinpatterson
Hey, Just thought I'd attempt to breathe some life into the thread. I think the mods frown on necro'ing a 3 year old post. Since Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV run on the same engine, it shouldn't be too hard. the only issue is No. You should pay attention to Nivea's post above, she's an experienced modder who has created a lot of mods for both fallout and oblivion......she knows what she's talking about. that i heard its not legal to do unless you make oblivion one of the requirements. No that's not a way to skirt copyright issues, it's the assets themselves from oblivion (which is essentially the majority of the game) that can't be distributed in a fallout mod. Making oblivion a requirement has no impact on that issue. An example is tale of two wastelands, which required the player to provide FO3 assets him or herself (so no FO3 assets were distributed). You won't be able to alter the oblivion assets and distribute them (which means they would be non fuctional in the fallout game engine) on any site that is concerned about copyright issues. I really hope someone picks this up! It can't happen for legitimate/legal users unless Bethesda releases copyright claims on oblivion, and I think it's safe to say that's a complete no go. I think it's pretty likely there isn't going to be an underground version either since it's a lot of work. You'd have to make sure any races were made wholly from scratch (not edited versions of oblivion assets) if you wanted a legit version of this mod and I think it's very unlikely a 3D artist would develop the meshes. But if s/he did, the rest could be done by the community.
Deleted52794416User
I'm here to relive this post with good news, i found these Elder Scrolls races for New Vegas. I Hope these links are relevant.Dunmer/Dark Elves(By DrakenGuard): https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42017/Bosmer/Wood Elves(By Mattieus): https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37155 Couldn't find the other three races(Khajiit, Orc and High Elves) though. Imperial, Redguard, Breton and Nord races are just normal human races, just use the normal races.
