wfpeterson
I'm making a weapon mod for a weapon that comes in various colors (camo, wood, black, etc.) and having a couple of modifications (silencer and bipod). For the basic weapon the GECK lets me use one .nif file and add the textures when I select it. The same for the 1st person models. Even though I need four for each color to cover the combinations of modifications, each one references the same .nif with the textures referenced. My problem comes with the models for the modified weapons. GECK doesn't appear to allow me to add the textures as I select the .nif file. Tried a couple of times and all I get when I drop the weapon is a textureless image. It appears that I have to make 4 .nif files for each weapon color, with the textures imbedded in the .nif, a real waste of space (and my time). Does anyone see from my description just what I might be doing wrong? Or can confirm my suspicions. I'm using the latest 1.3 GECK. Pointing me to an existing mod that does something similar would be greatly appreciated.
