The Troubled Waters

I sleep here in the meadow, and hear the winds howl and cry

These waters all around me, they feel my pain inside

Nothing will be left, I'll be alone with time

Even as I speak now, the waters come alive

My friends scoffing laughter, the life I left behind

They silence themselves, when I see waves of strife

No matter how I warn, no matter the violence of the zephyrs

Nothing will be left, but these waters cannot subside

As every bit of immortal earth, and every bone of mine

Fade into the distance, I bend down at shores and ask, "Why?"

I skim the water with my hand, there will be no tonight

Not in this Valley of these troubled waters, nothing shall survive

I drink from the ashen water, as hellwaters roar inside my throat

Canyons and whirlwinds claim me still, as the oceanic tunnels in my throat rage for all time

I feel the maelstrom in chest, in my hands a tempest roars

No feat of nature has ever seen such powers come before

It whispers so gently and softly, telling me it is time

The waters mist my solemn lips, and gale voraciously scorch my fangs

No body may be seen again, not ever or in all time

I leave never to see a life again, as waters whitecap and roar

It destroys everything, and I feel no more.

But know this, and know it well

No single drop of water believes it is responsible for the flood

Yes. The story is all about how a person from a village was knowing for a long time that a flood would destroy everything he knew and loved, but despite his desperate warnings, no one listened. He felt there was no longer hope, and when the time had come, he simply walked away forever, right behind him the flood. As he left all he ever loved, he lost hope, knowing everything he ever cared about, all of it was gone. In the end he realized that it was not only the flood that caused the destruction, but the stubborn natures and refusal to listen of the ones he loved. As their cold lifeless bodies drifted away, lost forever, he could never help to think that they were drops of water in a flood. They all contributed, but everyone blamed all the others, never taking the responsibility they should have for their actions. For that, they lost their souls... to the troubled waters.
