For unwanted commentary, check out the mod "Stop Wasting My Time". It is a top download at both workshop and nexus. If you can suggest additional specific commentary which that mod doesn't remove, you can probably check the comments at steam workshop, and post any new entries. the other mod "Instant Avenger Menus" is also worth checking out.

 

Neither of them fix the "hitches" when a soldier jumps over a trash can or similar, but getting to the strategy map instantly just makes the game "feel" faster.

Yes, I am aware of those mods and what they do. I am curious what this file does, what exactly these entries notate, and the like.

I suppose I could look through the code of those mods, but the Stop Wasting My Time mod doesn't remove a lot of the camera grabs and talking moments, like when you spot a sectoid, trooper, etc for the first time. Or all the useless little 'cut-scene' moments that are so unnecessary ... like look, there's the objective, look you blew up the objective, look a randomly generated pigeon on the balcony ... ok the last one might have been an exaggeration, but you get my point.

 

Also, I wonder if these dictate entries for the 'subtitles'
