JuzoXX
Setup: Windows 8.1 64 bit Intel i7 4700QM 2.4GHz (4 core - 8 threads) 16GB GDDR3 1600MHz RAM Nvidia GT 755m SLI Direct x11 Using Nexus Mod Manager to install and manage my mods. ENBSeries (latest) ; ShadowBoost (latest) I don't have any ENB or ReShade presets installed at the moment. Mods I use are mostly for Clothes, Armor, Weapons and a few sorting mods. Also using Darker Nights with True Storms and Franssons Light Tweaks. For the most part everything runs pretty good. my FPS averages 48-61, where 61 is where I have it capped. FPS in Workshop mode is usually 50-61. Other than a few little nit picks here and there, mostly due to my obsessive OCD, the problem I can't seem to solve is one where I enter, let's use the workshop house in Sanctuary as an example, a building I notice these random Horizontal lines popping up on my screen the closer I get to the back of the house usually originating from the hallway entrance. They don't seem to pop up anywhere else but on interior building walls or doorways. I've tried taking some screen shotsbut have yet to capture one at the right moment or one that shows clearly what I'm talking about. Further research shows that this is probably something called "Screen Tearing or Stuttering". I'm leaning more towards Screen Tearing since I don't seem to have any stutter in my players footsteps or loading the interior of the house itself. Distant objects gradually come into view smoothly as opposed to sporadically. The only thing I notice is the random "tears" horizontally going across my screen. Best way I could describe it is imagine taking a photograph, now cut that photo horizontally multiple times leaving it in multiple pieces. now align them all back up, like a puzzle, so that you can distinguish what the photo is in front of you, lets says it's a photo of Dogmeat. We can clearly tell what's in the picture but we can still see the obvious "cuts or tears" from when we first cut this picture up horizontally. Hope this makes sense :steamsad: Sorry for the wall of text. Just praying somebody can help me find a fix for this eyesore. I've already tried a few methods for eliminating screen tearing and haven't had much luck yet.
steve40
Do you mean vertical sync? Enabling v-sync on your graphics card settings should eliminate any screen tearing. Edited February 26, 2016 by steve40
JuzoXX
Yea I know about the V-Sync and how apparently FO4 runs V-Sync by default? I'm just stuck in the middle of wtf to do? I read one post on performance and running FO4 smoothly with SLI and it says disable V-Sync, cap your FPS, blah blah blah. I read another one, sometimes on the same forum topic or website and it tells me to do the exact opposite and enable V-Sync, don't cap FPS, blah blah blah. I just don't know what to do anymore. It's like I'm the only person who is having performance issues with my particular laptop. Other people I've talked to who also own my same model and SLI setup report no problems. I've checked my hardware, drivers, took it apart and cleaned what little dust there was and double checked my connections. Everything is fine. I think it might have something to do with how my INI files are setup? From my understanding of it all I'm only ever supposed to edit the FalloutCustom.ini file. I've never messed with the Fallout4.ini file unless I was instructed to do so, which I don't recall ever having to. On a few occasions I had to edit the Fallout4Pref.ini but it kept reverting itself. I'm only supposed to edit the INI files that are directly located in "MyDocuments > Fallout4 folders and noth the ones from the install directory or do I have it mixed up? The only INI files I ever edit in the FO4 install directory are ones for ENB or ReShade. I want to tinker around with Overclocking my GPU and or CPU but I first have to deal with getting my BIOS unlocked on my Lenovo. My System: Lenovo Y510P OS - Windows 8.1 64 BitCPU - Intel i7 4700MQ 2.4GHzGPU - (2x) Nvidia GT 755m SLI 2GB GDDR5 RAM - (2x) 8GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz / 16GB totalHDD - 1TB Seagate SSHD (OS Installed)HDD - 1TB Seagate SSHD External USB 3.0 (Games Installed) BIOS - InsydeH20 v3.08 UEFI (Currently trying to unlock it)My system is more than capable of running FO4 at Medium > High settings (From what I'm told and what it tested for) I'd be content running FO4 at Medium > High settings, don't care for running it at 60FPS Ultra Settings because I know it can't handle it at 60FPS.I just want to get a steady 40-60 FPS. Anything in that range is fine with me.
Aterr
Did you get the latest drivers from nVidia? I just got a new driver from them and it fixed about a dozen little annoyances, Me:GeForce 960 4Gb DDR 5Intel I7 4790 @3.6GHz16Gb RAMWindows 10 HomeVideo Driver 361.91Running Ultra Settings in Game @ 1440x960Display Vizio 32" LED via HDMI From the recent Specs, you should have no problems running in Ultra... Is that a Laptop??? I am unfamiliar with your actual Processor... there should be no real limitation there,,, and from the Specs on your GPUs, you should be in Overkill Mode.
