Moraelin
Actually, far as I can tell, girl gamers are about as common as boy gamers. We're living in a world where a whole bunch of retired grandmas play WoW. Hell, my retired old mom is camping the battlegrounds. Finding them on YouTube, well, that's a whole different story. As I was saying YouTube tends to find anywhere between two and a dozen gamers total for any given game, and even that tends to be more like two total if playlists are enabled, out of the THOUSANDS out there. Plus a couple more in other languages like Czech LPs and Russian LPs and such. And sometimes I even wonder by what criteria, since it's definitely not the most popular or subscribed or anything. I invariably seem to be more likely to be shown results from some guy with 40 subscriptions, than from someone with millions of subscriptions. (Yes, several actually exist.) And some of the other options break playlist search even worse. Seriously. You'd THINK that if anyone could figure out a good search algorithm for videos, GOOGLE would be the one, but obviously you'd be wrong  And even the number of subscriptions tends to not necessarily mean much, mind you. Moraelin
Oh, btw, here's one I forgot before: https://www.youtube.com/user/aKiss4Luck Nice lady, and considering that she's quill18's mother-in-law and I follow quill18, it's weird that she slipped my mind. But, I guess I'm getting old, and as they say, two things go downhill with age: first the eyes, and then... I forgot the other one ;) Not sure if she does Fallout 4, though. Seems to be mostly city building games and such. Edited February 29, 2016 by Moraelin
Klipperken
City building games, soo... well, FO4 fits that. *grins*
Moraelin
Lol, I like the way you think. Still most games like SimCity, Tropico, Banished and so on tend to be slower paced and more relaxed. You know, not as heavy on dodging mini-nukes. So not everyone plays both those and FO4, I guess.
Klipperken
Wait, there's no dodging nukes in Sim City?Boooh, how... boring... XD
Moraelin
Nah, in SimCity you'd be praying to dodge EA's bugs, the broken AI, and random server disconnects. Nukes would have been an improvement, I tell ya :p
Klipperken
EA, the same folks from what was it, the sims?Yes, the sims, that it was.Umm, well, a mailbox could solve that issue? XD
PoliteRaider
Thankyou, all of the FO4 let's plays that I'm currently watching are from male players and it'd be nice to mix things up and have more of a variety. I'll give this one a try. I don't understand. Do you think there is a COMPANY producing FO4 play videos, and for 'sexist' reasons they only choose males??? NO, NO, NO. Each of those videos is made by an INDIVIDUAL who wants to make a video, and is NOT conspiring with other blokes to keep it an 'all male club'. And each of those males is a PERSON, whose personhood is NOT reduced simply because he is a male. Mostly males play these AAA games just as mostly females read 'romantic' (which is a euphamism for the P-word) fiction. There is NOTHING wrong with this. Different UNCONNECTED males making FO4 play videos IS a variety. If more women WANT to get into FO4 like gaming, good for them- but the idea that a problem exists because they don't is absurd. You're clearly really stressed out about this issue, so I almost don't want to respond here and risk upsetting you further but I think I should at least clear up the misunderstanding. I can see, at a stretch, how you might have read more into my comment than I intended to convey. However you're leaping to a conclusion really quickly from a neutral comment and then reacting very strongly to it in a complete absence of anything to react to. I watch and enjoy a bunch of great let's players who are guys. Gopher, HausofKlaus, GoldGlove, and a couple of others that I've caught the occasional episode here and there but don't watch regularly. They're all playing the same game and it does blur together after a while. I'd like some more videos to watch that are a little different in some way and the OP suggested one that I thought would be a bit different because it had a female host. Not because it particularly needed to be a female host to provide that variety, that was just what's on offer here and happened to meet my needs. That was all my comment was about. No conspiracy theories, decrying Youtube, Bethesda or the world in general, just a comment to the OP of "oh thanks for the recommendation, that's neat." Klipperken
Quite frankly, i'm getting tired of all those males posting here.I want more women to post.Dunno why, I just don't like males that much. *grins*
Aterr
Well, I for one thought that it was refreshing and pretty honest. It was obvious that she had played Fallout Series before and that she plays pretty much like I do, as an explorer. I'm not positive if she is playing on a Console, or with a controller hooked to a PC. Those graphics were pretty lame by my PC standards, but her capture device is pretty awesome (wishing that I had something that worked that well for me). I watched 5 episodes... I kept going on you missed that, you missed that! Grab a better weapon! Oh well, I just liked the fact that I watched someone hooked on FO like me... and I am almost 53. I was hooked on the Original Fallout (That would be what everyone calls Fallout 1) I pre ordered my copy back in the day :nuke:
