mikkoaaltonen
Experiencing frequent game freezes and crashes after installing a pile of essential mods. I get the "out of memory" error message after the game freezes, usually on a loading screen when entering a building.Sometimes the game just has trouble loading the landscape in the wilderness too and it starts fidgeting before freezing. Will post my mod list in next post if someone is interested helping me.
dubiousintent
"Out of memory" usually means just that. How much System RAM and VRAM (graphics card memory) do you have? Which OS version? 32-bit or 64-bit? Are you running ENB or SweetFX? Have you installed any high-resolution textures? All this could lead to that. -Dubious- Edited February 28, 2016 by dubiousintent
mikkoaaltonen
Oh, so it just might be that simple.. could be my graphics card that can't keep up because I do have one high res texture overhaul. dubiousintent
Even simple issues can be complex. For instance: games written to run on 32-bit systems have a limit of 2GB of RAM that they can use no matter how much is available in the system. There are ways to give them more than that, but they require you to make some changes. (See this wiki article for the full explanation and possible solutions.) Which is why I asked about what sort of system you are running. That is more likely to be the cause in this instance. (The hi-rez textures are similar but specific to the video card.) The video card doesn't spit out that "out of memory" error. (Graphics are not confined to the video card. The OS does use some system RAM to deal with video as well.) Simple explanation for the error, but complex possibilities for the cause. -Dubious-
