Bladed melee weapon thrust?

As fun as hacking and slashing your enemy to little bits is, why not be able to do a power attack thrust that pierces the enemies armor as well? Of course that's only for bladed melee weapons, and for blunt melee weapons a thrust knockdown attack! I don't know if this is possible, but i think it'd be a very neat addition to melee style fighting.
