ptwink41
ok, so i just installed the shivering isles, knights of the nine, upgraded oblivion, upgraded CS without any issues. since i have done quite a bit of modding (about 1000 hours under my belt), i opened up CS to create a new quest using the figure of the gatekeeper from the shivering isles. to my dismay, nothing from SI was in CS. is there some special process that i have to follow to get the textures/meshes/objects into CS so i can mod with them? please give me any ideas on how this may work.

To see them, and work on a mod at the same time, you need to extract them all to your data folder (since you can't load the .esp without causing problems). The .esp allows the bsa archives to work within the CS for some silly reason. It's just another one of those things that makes you wonder what the hell Bethsoft was thinking when they released SI. Pretty sure morrowind used BSA archives, and expansions worked well as .esm files... Don't know why Bethsoft decided to merge the expansion with the main .esm, include a .esp which links the .bsa archives, and screw everything up in the process. Sypron
Hes talking about extracting the SI files to the data folder. You extract the files from the SI.bsa's (data folder) using a BSA Unpacker program. You don't need to extract ALL the files. That just takes ages. You only need to extract the files you want to work with.
