VIitS
So I'm still fairly new-ish (I've used xEdit since FO3 to make tweaks and combine mods, but didn't actually upload anything until recently), but I have been trying to teach myself more. I like to fix things, and so have helped a few mod authors out here and there when they had an issue that I already new how to fix from my tinkering. Once FO4Edit was updated to the point you could properly copy the Race records, I started playing around with them (which led me to finding out how strangely the game treats hair colors), but I also noticed that the full list of equip slots is in the race record. At this point, I realized that it should theoretically be possible to add more equip slots, which brings me to the point of this post: The final step would obviously be to add a new biped object to the list of Biped Object names. So I was wondering if anyone knew what else would be needed to properly implement new Biped Object slots. It definitely wouldn't be easy, since it would require (if nothing else) getting FO4Edit to recognize the new slot, so you could make an armor piece utilize it instead of other slots. But what else would be required? And of course, the other problem with adding new biped objects for use with armors, is it would pretty much require an infrastructure mod (along the lines of SK or AWKCR), because otherwise changes to the Race record would overwrite each other, and the Race record is definitely not something people without a good bit of experience with xEdit should be touching, especially for things more complicated than things like adding new hair colors (which is just adding new entries to a list of references). On an unrelated note, it felt really weird when I got a notification from the nexus that I was now a recognized mod author. It still makes me giggle a little that I even have access to this part of the forums. I definitely didn't expect my mesh edit that "repairs" the Red Rocket to get over 1000 downloads in less than two days.
